Wash tea towels so they stay bright (and do not smell)
The tea towel that lives on the oven handle is doing real work: wet hands, tomato sauce, a mushroom print, a terrazzo print, a leopard print. Wash it like a cloth you will reuse, not like a rag you hide.
Wash warm, skip the fabric softener
Warm water and a normal detergent keep florals and ink prints from going dingy. Fabric softener coats fibers so they stop absorbing. That is how a towel starts to smell even when it looks clean.
Hang it fully open
A bunched towel on a hook stays damp in the fold. Hang it flat or on a bar. If it still smells, wash again with a splash of white vinegar in the rinse, then dry all the way.
What we stock
Linen & Ladle carries dozens of kitchen tea towels in one aisle: watercolor florals, fall leaves, tiles, botanicals, mushrooms, and leopard prints. Same care for every print. Same job: dry hands and wipe the counter without a paper-towel roll.
