Keep Onions Off the Bread Board
One board for bread. One board for onions and meat. That is not fussy. Onion oil stays in the wood. If the same board does both, toast tastes like dinner from last night.
Wood boards live next to the sink, not in the dishwasher. Wipe, dry on edge, oil when they look pale.
Two boards is enough
A small board for bread and fruit. A larger one for chopping. Label them in your head. Guests will not see a label. They will taste if you mixed them.
Keep the table calm
Serve bread on the small board with a linen under it. More kitchen pieces live in the shop catalog.
